  • Senior Haile Hicks (Jefferson, N.H.), making her 25th start on the rubber, took control early by striking out the side to end the first inning.
  • In the top of the second, sophomore Alyssa Wironen (Leominster, Mass.) picked up her first hit of the day with a single up the middle before reaching second base on an infield error.
  • After Assumption's defense managed to get out of the top of the inning, the Greyhounds offense began to click, scoring a pair of runs off two hits to make it a 3-2 game.
  • Neither team recorded a run in the next three innings with the Hawks posting the only three hits during that stretch including a single by junior Ava Caputo (Waterbury, N.Y.).
  • In the bottom of the sixth, Assumption tied the game up at 3-3 thanks to an RBI single by Kaitlyn Cahill.
