Natalie Tulchinsky (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and junior
Audrey Jackson (Shoreview, Minn.) each scored a hat trick to help the Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team down Saint Michael's College, 11-1, in the series finale on Saturday. The Hawks tied the single-game program record with their 11 goals which was last accomplished in 2013 against Plymouth State University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Purple Knights got on the attack early in the first period after earning the opening power play of the game, but Saint Anselm Anselm's defense held their opponents from registering a single shot during the man-advantage. A few minutes later, Saint Michael's jumped out to a 1-0 lead thanks to a score by Mary Leys at the 4:04 mark.
- Sophomore Brooklyn Schneiderhan (Helena, Mont.) answered for the Hawks about a minute later, tying the game at 1-1 with her 12th goal of the season off helpers from seniors Maddy McCaffery (Weymouth, Mass.) and Abigail Blair (Grand Island, N.Y.). Shortly after, Jackson tallied her first score of the afternoon to put Saint Anselm ahead 2-1 with juniors Gracee Donovan (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and Madi Ressler (Brighton, Mich.) each posting an assist.
- Junior Annabella Lalande (Lachute, Quebec) produced her second save of the game to deny a shot attempt by Mikaela Langbacka. At the 11:39 mark, Saint Anselm had the extra skater after an elbowing penalty on Saint Michael's.Tulchinsky joined in on the scoring with a wrist shot to make it 3-1 Hawks with eight minutes left to go in the period.
- Saint Anselm notched one more goal before the end of the first with freshman Julianna Herman (The Pas, Manitoba, Canada) slipping the puck past Saint Michael's goalie Annika Lavender to go up 4-1 heading into the first intermission.
- Both teams started the second period by exchanging shots before the Saint Anselm earned another power play chance. Senior Brinna Martin (St. Michael, Mich.) was able to squeeze a shot on frame but the Purple Knights successfully killed the Hawks power play. The floodgates quickly opened in the final four minutes of the period as Saint Anselm scored three goals all within a minute span to extend their advantage to 7-1. Tulchinsky tallied their second goal of the afternoon along with scores by Donovan and senior Claire Weber (Marshfield, Mass.) to close out the middle stanza.
- At the 19:04 mark, Saint Michael's earned a late power play to go up a skater in the final minute of the second period. Donovan notched a short-handed goal just before the break, her second goal in the period, to give Saint Anselm a seven-goal cushion.
- Saint Michael's posted the first six shot attempts of the third period featuring a save by Lalande. Tulchinsky netted her third score of the game off the assists from Weber and senior Savannah Popick (South Windsor, Conn.) to make it 9-1 Hawks. Jackson scored the final two goals for Saint Anselm, recording her first career hat trick, and sealing the Hawks 11-1 victory over the Purple Knights.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Saint Anselm outshot their opponents by a 50-24 margin in the game with 39 shots on target in comparison to 23 shots on frame by Saint Michael's.
- The Purple Knights posted 13 total blocks with the Hawks recording nine blocks featuring two from Ressler.
- The Hawks dominated from the faceoff dot winning 48-of-67 draws in the contest. Tulchinsky led the team with her season-high 23 faceoff wins off 32 draws.
- Saint Anselm killed all four of Saint Michael's power plays, limiting the Purple Knights to just one shot attempt combined. The Hawks went 2-for-6 with the extra skater, registering nine total shots attempts.
- Tulchinsky and Jackson each netted a hat trick in the win marking just the second time ever in program history a pair of hat tricks were recorded in a single game. That feat was first achieved on Feb. 15 against Plymouth State in 2013 with Rosemarie Giarrusso and Kathryn Picarello each registering three scores.
- Donovan tallied a pair of goals and a team-high three assists for a career-high five points. Tulchinsky also earned a new career-high with her five points while Jackson matched her career-high with four points.
- Four Hawks recorded two assists including Tulchinsky, Weber, Martin, and junior Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) while seven other Hawks posted an assist in the game.
- Lalande posted her sixth win in net for the Hawks to improve to a 6-3-0 record after making 23 saves and allowing just one goal.
- Their 11 goals scored is tied for fourth most in a single-game program record which was set on Feb. 15 against Plymouth State by the 2012-13 squad. Saint Anselm also tied the fifth most assists recorded in a single-game with 18 to match both the 2016 and 2018 teams.
