Kelly Golini (Tewksbury, Mass.) of the Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team was named a New England Hockey Writers Association Division I Women's Ice Hockey All-Star.
Golini and the Hawks qualified for their fifth New England Women's Hockey Alliance Championship game but fell to Long Island University by a 2-0 score in the championship contest on Mar. 4. Saint Anselm posted an 18-17-4 overall record and a 14-6-4 record in NEWHA play. The Hawks have won 16 or more games in each of the last 12 full seasons of competition.
Golini was named the NEWHA Player of the Year in February and collected All-NEWHA First Team honors. Earlier in the season, Golini was named the Hockey Commissioners Association National Women's Co-Player of the Month for November. She also collected the NEWHA Player of the Week honors twice in 2022-23.
Golini ranked second in the NEWHA with 44 points coming from 18 goals and 26 assists. The graduate student co-captain ranked fourth in the league in goals while leading in assists. In 2022-23, Golini joined the 100-point club, becoming just the ninth student-athlete in program history to do so. Golini also set the program record for career games played and has appeared in 132 across four seasons of competition. Golini's 44 points in 2022-23 are the most in a single season in team annals.
The graduate student went for four points in two contests this season, netting two goals and two assists in a win over Saint Michael's College on Nov. 18 and later wrapped up the regular season with one goal and three assists against Post University on Feb. 4. The two four-point efforts were part of 11 multi-point games throughout the 2022-23 season.
In 132 games as a member of the Saint Anselm women's ice hockey program, Golini has scored 58 goals and assisted on 63 others for 121 career points. Golini ranks fourth in program history in career points, fifth in goals, is tied for third in assists.
