H. – The No. 6 nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College field hockey team soared past the University of New Haven, 4-1, during their Senior Day game on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks improved to 7-2 in conference play with the victory over the Chargers at Grappone Stadium.

- The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 18 playing American International College for their next Northeast-10 Conference tilt. The game is slated for a 5:00 p.m. start time on the Hilltop.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks fired four early shots in the first period of play forcing two saves from Chargers goalie Ally Saigh. Saint Anselm broke through the scoreline at the 4:22 mark thanks to a goal from sophomore Millie Forster (Cheshire, England) off a centering pass from junior Chloe Kapsambelis (Merrimack, N.H.). Saigh would make another four saves to keep the score at 1-0 Hawks.
- After a quiet start to the second period, senior Maddie Davis (Exeter, N.H.) notched her seventh score of the season on the connection with fellow classmate Abbey Bevens (Pelham, N.H.) to make it 2-0. With a few seconds remaining before halftime, sophomore Marissa Politano (Acton, Mass.) tallied the third goal for the Hawks after junior Abby Breznyk (Oakland, Maine) fed the ball from the top of the arc on a penalty corner to extend Saint Anselm's lead to 3-0.
- Saint Anselm outshot New Haven in the third period of the game by a 3-0 margin, but the Hawks were unable to get by the Chargers goalie Hallie Reiger who checked into the game at the start of the half.
- At the 48:23 mark in the fourth period, Bevens connected with Davis once again to make it a 4-0 Hawks. Junior Sidney Falterer (Fairfield, Conn.) checked into the game for Saint Anselm making two stops before the Chargers found the back of the cage at the 58:00 mark. The Hawks howevr would go on to secure the 4-1 victory over the over New Haven on Senior Day.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Saint Anselm outshot New Haven 21-7 and held a 13-5 shots on goal advantage.
- Davis and Bevens both notched a gaol and an assist a piece for the Hawks while Forster and Politano each posted one goal apiece.
- McConnell made three saves in net for the Hawks while Falterer saw action in the fourth period of the game also tallying two saves.
