MANCHESTER, N.H. – Head coach Jen Kindret of the Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team has announced her team's three captains for the 2022-23 season.

Graduate student Kelly Golini (Tewksbury, Mass.) and seniors Gabrielle Huson (Edina, Minn.) and Allie Kelley (East Berne, N.Y.) were selected to the lead the Hawks this season.

"I am honored to announce Kelly and Gabrielle as co-captains this year as well as the addition of Allie as an alternate captain." said Kindret. "Their leadership has already been steadfast and we are excited for them to help guide our group to new heights."

Golini and Huson will both wear the "C" as they will serve as co-captains for the 18th season of competition for the program. Kelley will wear an "A" on her sweater as she will be an alternate captain for the Hawks.

Both Golini and Huson return from last season's captains group and become the 12th and 13th student-athletes to be part of the leadership group on multiple occasions. Kelley is just the third goaltender to wear a letter in program history.

Golini skated in 31 games for the Hawks last season and netted 14 goals while assisting on a career-high 16 others for 30 points, which was tied for the team lead. Golini posted a team-best plus-20 on-ice rating and was credited with four game-winning goals. Starting on Dec. 2 against Brown and running to the New England Women's Hockey Alliance Championship game on Mar. 5, Golini registered at least one point in each contest, marking a streak of 14-consecutive games.

For her career, Golini has skated in 93 games and has produced 77 points on 40 goals and 37 assists. The graduate student is credited with eight power play goals, two shorthanded goals, and eight game-winning goals.

Huson was the lone Saint Anselm student-athlete to skate in all 32 games for the Hawks last season. She found the back of the net three times while adding five assists for eight points from the blue line. Huson ranked third in points on the Hawks amongst those in the defensive corps. In 2021-22, Huson blocked 48 shots which was second most on the team and was credited with two-game winning goals with one coming against Post on Nov. 13 and the other against Long Island on Jan. 15.

The senior has skated in 58 games across two full seasons of play on the Hilltop. She has scored eight goals and added eight assists for 16 points. Huson is credited with four game-winning goals and has fired 74 shots while being whistled for just four minor penalties.

Kelley registered 1,040 saves for the Hawks last season which is a program record and became the first Saint Anselm student-athlete, male or female, to eclipse the 1,000 saves mark in a single season. Kelley posted a 0.939 save percentage which was sixth-highest compared to the National Collegiate level and added a 2.28 goals-against average that ranked fourth in the NEWHA. Kelley turned aside 58 shots on Oct. 23 against Harvard, which is also a program record.

Last season, Kelley stopped 50 or more shots in five contests including 51 in the NEWHA Championship game on Mar. 5 and posted 40 or more saves in 15 of 30 games played. Kelley finished the season with a 15-13-2 record with four wins coming in a shutout.

Golini, Huson, Kelley, and the rest of the Hawks open the 2022-23 season on Friday, Sept. 23 at Mercyhurst with the opening puck drop slated for 6 p.m.
