SYRACUSE, N.Y. – With three goals in the No. 19 Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team loss to No. 10 Le Moyne College, senior
Jenna Balboni (Billerica, Mass.) became the 10th Saint Anselm student-athlete to reach 100 career goals.
Balboni netted the Hawks third goal of the first quarter before cashing in on two of three fourth quarter goals. The most recent Saint Anselm student-athlete to reach the milestone was
Erica Mattila '18. The senior now has 26 goals on the season which is just three shy of a career high in a single season. Balboni needed 41 games to reach the 100-career goal mark, good for an average of 2.44 goals per game which is seventh best currently in program history.
The Hawks fall to 6-4 on the season and 4-3 in Northeast-10 Conference games. The Dolphins improve to 9-3 overall and 6-2 in the NE10. Saint Anselm will host No. 12 Pace University on Saturday, Apr. 16, marking the fourth consecutive game and the sixth on the season against a nationally-ranked opponent.
Balboni's three goals were a team-high while sophomores
Alison Ferullo (North Andover, Mass.) and
Jess Sullivan (Wrentham, Mass.) combined for the other three goals respectively.
Senior
Annie Richards (Reading, Mass.) led all student-athletes with four assists and posted a team-high four points. Richards now needs just five helpers to become the first women's lacrosse student-athlete to reach 100 career assists.

Grace Young (Merrimack, N.H.) suffers her fourth loss of the season after making six saves. Freshman
Elizabeth Driscoll (Marblehead, Mass.) faced two shots on goal in just over 10 minutes of action while making one save for Saint Anselm.
Ferullo opened the scoring the contest with her 14th goal of the season just 25 seconds into play. After a pair of goals by the Dolphins, Sullivan netted her 21st tally of 2022, which tied the score at two at 8:25 of the first quarter. Le Moyne would score three consecutive goals to gap the Hawks and take a 6-2 lead before Balboni got the scoring back in the Hawks favor at 1:28 of the quarter.
A goal with just three second left in the first quarter by the Dolphins started a streak of 13 consecutive goals as the hosts kept the Hawks off the board for the second and third quarters. A pair of Balboni tallies would sandwich Ferullo's second goal of the day in the fourth frame, giving the Hawks a three-goal run in just 4:42 of the final stanza.
Sarah Hutchings scored her game-high sixth goal of the game in the final minutes, pushing the score to 19-6.
The Dolphins held a 38-18 advantage in shots including a 26-13 edge in shots on goal. Saint Anselm collected 16 draw controls compared to 12 for Le Moyne. The Hawks also had six free-position shots while the Dolphins had five.
