The Hawks opened the scoring at 10:32 of the first period when Meyers cashed in a cross-crease pass from Golini. Golini got the play started by winning a defensive zone faceoff back to sophomore
Brinna Martin (Saint Michael, Minn.) who found Turner on a breakout pass. Golini and Meyers drove through the neutral zone and into the attacking end in a two-on-one.
The Purple Knights tied the contest at one at 6:53 of the second frame when
Ella Saracco redirected a pass from
Mikayla Langbacka on the power play. Langbacka sent a pass from the left faceoff circle to the right where Saracco lifted a shot over Kelley.

Golini drove through the neutral zone and sauced a pass across the ice for Turner who fired a snapshot over the right shoulder of Purple Knights goaltender
Carissa Mudrak.
Golini gave Saint Anselm a 3-1 lead at 16:55 of the second stanza when she forced a turnover in the attacking end while shorthanded. The senior managed to beat Mudrak in a one-on-one from inside the Hawks offensive zone for her second shorthanded goal of the season and the team's sixth on the season which is tied for third most in a single season.
Saint Anselm held a 35-22 shots on goal advantage in the contest. The Hawks limited the Purple Knights to just three shots on frame in the final period, limiting the chances to close gap on the scoreboard.
