MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team heads to Sacred Heart University for a weekend pair of games versus the Pioneers on Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6. Friday's action is scheduled for a 4 p.m. puck drop while Saturday is slated for 2:30 p.m.

The Hawks split a home-and-home series with Franklin Pierce on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 winning by a 1-0 score at home before falling 3-2 on the road. Saint Anselm is now 2-6 on the season with a 1-1 record in New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) play. The Hawks return home to host Post University on Friday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 13.
The Pioneers swept Post in their weekend series on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30, outscoring the Eagles by a combined 9-1 score line. With the wins, Sacred Heart improved to 4-5 on the young season with a 2-2 record in NEWHA play. After hosting the Hawks, the Pioneers head to Saint Michael's College on Friday, Nov. 19 and Saturday, Nov. 20.
Fans attending the games at the Sports Center of Connecticut are expected to familiarize themselves with the Sacred Heart

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- The Hawks opened to 2021-22 season with a 3-2 win over Maine before falling to nationally-ranked opponents in Quinnipiac and Northeastern and suffering losses to ECAC Hockey opponents in Yale and Harvard. Saint Anselm opened NEWHA play with a 1-0 victory over Franklin Pierce, snapping the five-game losing skid.
- In the weekend series with the Ravens, sophomore Maddy McCaffery (Weymouth, Mass.) and freshmen Gracee Donovan (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) all recorded their first career goals, accounting for the three Hawks goals scored in the two games.
- Senior Kelly Golini (Tewksbury, Mass.), junior Devin Porazinski (Parker, Colo.), and sophomore Claire Weber (Marshfield, Mass.) are tied for the team lead in goals with two each. Senior Erin Meyers (Saint Paul, Minn.) and junior Kenadie Cooper (Gilbert, Ariz.) join the McCaffery, Donovan, and Turner with one goal each, bringing the Hawks season total to 11.
- Meyers and freshman Madi Ressler (Brighton, Mich.) are tied for the team lead with four assists each. Meyers leads the squad with five points while Ressler and Turner just one-point back with four.
- Junior Allie Kelley (East Berne, N.Y.) was named the NEWHA Goaltender of the Week on Tuesday after she posted a 40-save shutout in the win over Franklin Pierce before adding 20 saves in the 3-2 loss. For the season, Kelley has 310 saves good for a .914 save percentage and a 4.11 goals-against average.
- Saint Anselm is converting on the power play at 8.6% (3-35) while killing off penalties at 81.1%, (7-37).
SCOUTING SACRED HEART
- The Pioneers opened the 2021-22 campaign with a pair of losses to Clarkson before grabbing wins over Saint Michael's and Post. The squad opened NEWHA play with a home-and-home series loss to Long Island and then suffered its third-consecutive loss to Yale. Sacred Heart snapped the losing skid with a pair of wins over Post last weekend, holding a 9-1 advantage in goals over the Eagles.
- Anna Klein, Alexa Ocel, and Kelly Solak are tied for the conference lead with four goals each. Ocel was named the NEWHA Player of the week after scoring twice and adding two assists against the Eagles. On the season, the Pioneers have lit the lamp 25 times.
- Klein is second in the conference in assists with seven while Ocel is third with six. The duo ranks first and second in the NEWHA in points. Five student-athletes are tied for third on the team in assists with three each.
- Frankie Sanchez has started seven games in goal for Sacred Heart. She has a 3.16 goals against average and a 0.898 save percentage. Carly Greene has drawn two starts and holds a goals-against average of 2.30 and a save percentage of 0.929.
- The Pioneers have converted on the power play seven times in 33 opportunities, good for a rate of 21.2%. They are killing off their penalties at an 88.6% (4-35) clip.
ALL-TIME vs. SACRED HEART
- These will be the 33rd and 34th meetings between the Hawks and Pioneers. Saint Anselm is 22-8-2 in the all-time series.
- In the 2019-20 season, Sacred Heart was 4-0 against Saint Anselm posting a 3-1 victory on Feb. 8, 2020, marking the last meeting between the programs.
- From Feb. 27, 2010 to Feb. 9, 2018, the Hawks won 12 consecutive contests against the Pioneers, the longest win streak for either program in the series.
