The Hawks posted a weekend series sweep of Post University on Nov. 12 and Nov. 13 by 5-1 and 3-0 scores. Saint Anselm is now 4-7-1 on the season and 3-2-1 in NEWHA play. After heading to LIU, Saint
Anselm has a home-and-home series with Dartmouth College on Saturday, Nov. 27 and Sunday, Nov. 28 before hosting Brown University in its final contest of the fall semester on Thursday, Dec. 2, which will also conclude the Hawks non-conference schedule.
In their last contests, the Sharks recorded a pair of wins over Post on Nov. 5 and Nov. 6 and have had 13 days without contests before hosting the Hawks. LIU is 6-6-0 and 6-0-0 in league contests after the weekend sweep of Post. After the two-game set with Saint Anselm, the Sharks host Yale University on Tuesday, Nov. 23 in the third of five consecutive home games.
Fans attending the contests at the Norwell Health Ice Center are expected to familiarize themselves with the Long Island University
spectator policy.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- The Hawks are 2-1-1 in the month of November after playing to a 2-6-0 record in their first month of exclusively playing against National Collegiate level competition. Saint Anselm is 3-2-1 since NEWHA play opened on Oct. 29.
- Senior Kelly Golini (Tewksbury, Mass.) is tied for the team lead with three goals, has four assists which is tied for third, and is tied for top spot on the team with seven points. She was named the NEWHA Player of the Week on Tuesday for the second time this season. Golini had a goal and three assists in the pair of wins over the Eagles. Freshman Gracee Donovan (Orchard Park, N.Y.) joins Golini with three goals scored this season after recording a goal in each of the Post games.
- Sophomore Brinna Martin (St. Michael, Minn.) is the team leader with six assists on the season after notching three in the weekend sweep of Post. Senior captain Erin Meyers (Saint Paul, Minn.) has five helpers which is second highest on the squad. Sophomore Savannah Popick (South Windsor, Conn.) collected the conference Defensive Player of the Week after recording three assists against Post.
- Junior Allie Kelley (East Berne, N.Y.) made 17 saves in the 5-1 win on Nov. 12. For the season, Kelley has a 3.35 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. She has accumulated 383 saves which is the fourth most in a Hawks single season. Kelley sits inside the top five in all three categories when compared to other NEWHA goaltenders. Freshman Annabella Lalande (Plantangenet, Ontario) posted a 29 save shutout on Nov. 13 in her first career start.
- On the season, Saint Anselm has found the back of the net five times in 57 power play opportunities. They have allowed nine extra skater goals in 62 opportunities. Against Post, the Hawks were shorthanded 13 times and did not allow a special teams goal.
SCOUTING LIU
- After opening the season at 0-6, the Sharks are winners in their last six games. The team suffered losses to the University of Connecticut, Quinnipiac University, and the University of Maine before capturing NEWHA victories over Sacred Heart University, Saint Michael's College, and Post.
- Megan Bouveur and Jeannie Wallner are tied for the conference lead with five goals each. Wallner has collected the NEWHA Player of the Week once this season. Megan Roe and Carrigan Umpherville follow closely with four goals each. The Sharks have netted 37 goals this season.
- Bri Eid leads the NEWHA with nine assists while Bouveur is second on the team with five helpers. Four other student-athletes have four assists each.
- Tindra Holm has started in eight games this season and has a 1.61 goals against average and a .940 save percentage. She has 204 saves in net for the Sharks. Holm has been named the NEWHA Rookie of the Week twice this season. She has the second lowest goals against average and the second highest save percentage while ranking fourth in total saves.
- LIU has found the twine eight times in 34 chances with the extra skater compared to 60 times shorthanded, allowing nine goals in those opportunities.
ALL-TIME vs. LIU
- These contests will be the sixth and seventh meetings in the all-time series between the Hawks and Sharks. Saint Anselm is 3-2 all-time.
- The programs met five times in the 2019-20 season as the Hawks posted three wins to open the series. In a weekend series on Jan. 10, 2020 and Jan. 11, 2020, Saint Anselm captured a pair of 4-2 victories before posting a 2-0 win on Feb. 14, 2020. The Sharks grabbed a 4-2 win the next night and just eight days later, collected the NEWHA Championship by a 1-0 score.
- Meyers and Golini combined for three points in the five games in 2019-20 against the Sharks.
