MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College Department of Athletics announced Leslie Tsiorbas and Jonathan Woodcock as the February 2020 "Hawks Soar Higher" Award selections on Friday.
All-Time Award Recipients
Debuting in the Fall of 2017, the special award was created to allow the Department of Athletics to recognize individuals that are instrumental to the College's efforts to offer a first-class, transformational student-athlete experience. The awards are issued each month during the academic year to two individuals employed by the institution outside of athletics.
Recipients will be colleagues, faculty, staff or administrators who advocate for Saint Anselm student-athletes and go above and beyond in their contributions each day on the Hilltop.
Tsiorbas, a member of the Dining Services staff for the past 15 years, is a servery supervisor for Davison Hall. She displays an unwavering commitment to the customer and regularly goes above and beyond to treat all students, staff and faculty with raving fan service.
"The wonderful athletes of Saint Anselm College are considerate, unselfish people who take the time to brighten my days," says Tsiorbas. "Perpetually busy, they still show interest in my mundane responsibilities with kindness and wishes for a pleasant day. I love our athletes."
Woodcock joined Saint Anselm in November 2017 as its Director of Capital Planning and Projects. As a key part of the Finance Office staff, Woodcock has assisted Athletics with several key projects, including the new Salamone Family Athletics Hall of Fame space and the Student-Athlete Academic Room.
"I am very grateful and honored to be receiving this award," said Woodcock. "The Athletics Department's drive to better the student-athlete experience is infectious and that translates to some pretty transformative projects.
"I have the privilege of working with many individuals who bring these dreams to life," concluded Woodcock. "From in-house staff to outsourced vendors, I could not do this job without them. Satisfaction comes from seeing spaces I have helped transform, used and appreciated by student athletes, coaches, staff, and alumni - there is nothing better!"
