MANCHESTER, N.H. – Sophomore Cole Corcoran (Braintree, Mass.) of the Saint Anselm College men's cross country team placed seventh in a field of 32 runners in Saturday's 38th annual Phillip J. Shacklette Invitational on campus.

Corcoran and the Hawks finished second as a team with 51 points, trailing Southern New Hampshire University and its 15 team points. Saint Michael's College rounded out the three-team field with 76 points to their credit.
Corcoran logged an 8K time of 28:36.55 with senior Anthony Galasso (Reading, Mass.) cracking the top 10, registering a time of 29:14.58. Freshman Tom Nelson (Gorham, Maine), making his collegiate debut, was the race's top freshman finisher (29:17.82).
Juniors Ben Sweesy (Merrimack, N.H.) and Jordan Cook (Biddeford, Maine) turned in times of 29:34.99 and 29:40.09, respectively, to finish in the top half of Saturday's field.
In total, six runners from Saint Anselm logged sub-30 minute times.
Southern New Hampshire's Michael Moreno led the field with a first-place time of 26:41.63.
Saint Anselm returns to action Saturday, Sept. 21 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. The men's race will begin at 10:30 a.m.
