MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College Department of Athletics announced that Ingrid Monzon and Gail Rhames were selected as the October 2019 "Hawks Soar Higher" Award selections.
All-Time Award Recipients
Debuting in the Fall of 2017, the special award was created to allow the Department of Athletics to recognize individuals that are instrumental to the College's efforts to offer a first-class, transformational student-athlete experience. The awards are issued each month during the academic year to two individuals employed by the institution outside of athletics.
Recipients will be colleagues, faculty, staff or administrators who advocate for Saint Anselm student-athletes and go above and beyond in their contributions each day on the Hilltop.
Monzon has worked for Dining Services at the College for the past 12 years. She is a lead cashier, interacting with student-athletes on a daily basis. She also works closely with Hawks student-athletes during the preseason and is on the front lines of making newcomers to campus feel comfortable and welcomed.
"I am pleasantly surprised to have received this award from the Athletic Department at Saint Anselm," said Monzon. "Interacting with our student-athletes every day, I see that they embody the spirit of Saint Anselm College and are a big part of bringing the community together. I will do my best to maintain the trust you all have placed in me and I [am thankful for] the honor of receiving this award."
Rhames has served the campus community for 31 years, working in the Student Financial Services Office. She has developed a close relationship with members of the Hawks coaching staffs and assists incoming student-athletes prior to their arrival to campus in late summer.
"I want to say 'thank you' to the Athletic Department for the Hawks Soar Higher award," said Rhames. "This is a very nice surprise. I love working with our amazing students and their families each year, starting in August when athletes report for their training camps."
