NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Erin Marshall finished with four goals, including the 100th of her career, and two assists to lead the Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team to a 13-4 win over Merrimack on Wednesday evening at Martone-Mejail Field.

Marshall scored all four of her goals and added one of her two assists in the second half as Saint Anselm (5-5, 4-5 NE-10) outscored Merrimack (4-8, 1-7 NE-10) 9-2 after the break. Erica Mattila and Michelle Kudlate each recorded three goals and an assist and Caitlin Villareal pitched in with a pair of goals in the win.
Mattila scored two early goals as the Hawks got out to a 3-0 lead in the first 11:03 of the game. Her second goal of the game at 18:57 was her 100th-career goal at Saint Anselm, making her the eighth player in program history to hit the milestone. Merrimack held Saint Anselm to one goal over the final 18:57 of the half and scored twice over the stretch to leave the Hawks up 4-2 at the half.
Marshall scored consecutive goals in the first 1:53 of the second half to help Saint Anselm's lead grow to 6-2. After the Warriors got within three, Marshall scored two more as part of a stretch of four-straight goals for the Hawks as the visitors went ahead 10-3.
Kudllate added two of her four goals in the final 11:14 of the game to help Saint Anselm close the game by scoring seven of the final eight goals.
Hunter McCarthy paced Merrimack with two goals, Bridget Schofield and Carly McKenna each scored once and Emma Bonassar chipped in a pair of assists.
Jane Bunn needed to make just five saves in the win after the Hawks outshot the Warriors 28-14 in the game. Alexa Petzold took the loss while making five saves in 37:52 before giving way to Lauren Trepaney, who made four stops in 22:08.
Saint Anselm was 6-for-12 on free position shots in the game, compared to 1-for-4 for Merrimack. The Hawks won 12-of-19 draw controls with the Warriors holding a slender edge in ground balls, 30-29.
Saint Anselm is off until Tuesday, April 19 when the team hosts Saint Michael's at 3:30 p.m. at Grappone Stadium.
