Hannah Friend gave the Hawks an early 1-0 lead as she was able to find the back of the net through a crowd in front of the goal to put Saint Anselm on top in the ninth minute of action.
Katherine Sears was tested in the 17th minute, but she was able to make a save on an attempt by Keally Ingersoll to preserve the one goal advantage. Bentley worked the ball down the right side with less than 10 minutes to play and a Falcon player snuck behind the defense, but Sears came off her line and kicked the ball to safety, ending the threat.
The game entered the half with the Hawks in front 1-0, but Saint Anselm wasted no time doubling their lead after being awarded a penalty corner less than three minutes into the second period. Erin Collins played the ball in and eventually Mia Vecchione was able to corral the loose ball and bury it in the back of the net for the 2-0 lead.

That would be all the offense Saint Anselm would need as the Hawks cruised to 3-0 shutout while holding a 22-2 advantage in shots in the game.
