KEENE, N.H. – Freshman Stephen Hunt (Wilbraham, Mass.) carded an impressive six-over-par 150, finishing in fourth place overall and leading the Saint Anselm College golf team to a seventh-place finish at the Franklin Pierce University shootout at Bretwood Golf Course in rural Keene.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Hunt finished in a three-player tie for fourth place overall, posting consecutive rounds of 74 and 76 for a two-day tournament score of 150. Both rounds together and separately were his lowest of the season.
• Sophomore Joe Brunelle (Billerica, Mass.) opened the day with a solid 74 of his own—his best single round of the year—before posting an 85 on Monday's round for a 159 tournament score.
• Freshman John Dowding (Wilbraham, Mass.), sophomore Tad Link (Newington, Conn.) and sophomore Nick Carter (South Easton, Mass.) all averaged rounds in the mid-80s. Dowding finished third for the Hawks with a 170 (81-89), while Link shaved nine strokes off his Sunday round to finish with a 173, and Carter rounded out the squad with a 175 (85-90).
INSIDE THE RESULTS
• Saint Anselm finished in seventh place in the team standings with a team score of 646, just two strokes behind sixth-place Post University. Bentley University won the event with two straight sub-300 rounds for a 595, while Southern New Hampshire University entered the clubhouse with a 605 team score in second place.
• Bentley's Malcolm Oliver took home medalist honors with a two-day total of 145, while SNHU's Jake Nutter was two strokes higher for second place. Hunt shared his fourth place finish with Bentley's Doug Kulikowski and SNHU's John Clancy, one stroke behind Bentley's Cal Meyers.

• Saint Anselm will finish up its fall slate of matches next weekend, traveling to the Captain's Golf Course in Brewster, Mass., for the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship tournament on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 25-26.
