MANCHESTER, N.H. – Freshman Alex Pearson (Kennebunk, Maine) won his singles match, but the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team fell to Adelphi University, 8-1, in its season opener Friday afternoon at the Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts.
The Hawks start out at 0-1, 0-1 NE-10, while the Panthers improve to 1-0, 1-0 NE-10.
Pearson won his No. 6 singles match by default over Christopher Buckley.
The Hawks return to action Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 3 p.m. when they head across town to take on Southern New Hampshire University.
