SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior Matthew Greeke (So. Hamilton, Mass.) and freshman John Joyce (Juneau, Alaska) each captured a pair of matches, but the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team was turned back by American International College, 6-3, Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks drop to 3-7 on the season, including 1-7 in Northeast-10 play, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 2-3, 2-3 NE-10.
Greeke and Joyce teamed up to post an 8-0 No. 3 doubles win against Chandler Long and Jason Popek before going on to win each of their singles matches. Greeke downed Popek, 6-2, 6-1, at the No. 5 singles slot, while Joyce earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Long at No. 6 singles.
