GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Sophomores Colleen Sears (Danvers, Mass.) and Canada Stewart (Derry, N.H.) each scored equalizing goals, but Adelphi University scored three unanswered to post a 5-2 victory against the Saint Anselm College field hockey team Saturday afternoon at Motamed Field.
The Hawks drop to 4-9 on the season, including 2-5 in Northeast-10 play, while the Panthers improve to 7-7, 2-4 NE-10.

Colleen Sears evened things at one with 2:10 on the clock as her shot made it past Adelphi goalkeeper Kelly Serrao.
Another Ackerman penalty stroke tally put the Panthers back in front just 2:41 into the second stanza, but Stewart potted a goal off a feed from freshman Rose Mooney (North Attleborough, Mass.) to knot things a two at the 47:20 mark.
Adelphi grabbed the lead for good 35 seconds later as Kristen Bagley collected the rebound off a Molly Cuevas shot and found the back of the net to make it 3-2. Carly Aceves added some insurance just six seconds later off a Cuevas assist.
Lena Pollich closed the scoring as she beat sophomore goalkeeper Shauna Whittemore (Bennington, N.H.) on a feed from Olivia Nowokunski with 1:32 to play.
