MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Michael Hanna (Southborough, Mass.) earned a pair of points, but the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team was handed a 7-2 defeat against Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday afternoon at the Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts.
The Hawks drop to 1-2 on both the season and in Northeast-10 play, while the Penmen remain perfect at 3-0, 3-0 NE-10.
Hanna was the only singles winner, earning a 12-10 tiebreaker in the third set after winning the first set, 7-5, and dropping the second set, 6-0, in No. 6 singles against Evan Eaton.
Hanna then teamed with classmate Joseph Zucchi (Methuen, Mass.) to post an 8-4 victory against Tim Hamilton and Brad Malenich in No. 3 singles.
The Hawks return to action Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. when they play host to Merrimack College at the Outdoor Tennis Courts.
