In the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, the Hawks scored 10 runs as Saint Anselm defeated the Golden Knights by a 10-1 score in five innings of work. Saint Anselm never trailed in the opening game, striking first in the visiting half of the third inning. Center fielder Monique Gauthier (Canton, Conn.) slapped an RBI double to right field, driving in Boucher with the third run of the game. Galavotti's second RBI single of the game drove home Gauthier with the second run of the inning while the final run of the inning was scored following a double steal attempt with Galavotti and Peffer.
Saint Rose was able to muster their lone run of the game in the home half of the fourth inning as infielder Rachel Reed reached base safely following an error by third baseman Hannah Byrne (Lynn, Mass.) to plate fellow infielder Jessica Butterbrodt with the lone run of the afternoon for Saint Rose.

The Golden Knights defense allowed two consecutive errors after Crowley's single as Byrne and first baseman Olivia Story (Middleton, Mass.) and loaded the bases. Scafidi lofted a sacrifice fly to plate Byrne and an ensuing triple by Boucher plated Fay and Story and the Hawks continued to build upon their lead.
Pitcher Alexis Bogdanovich (South Portland, Maine) collected her sixth victory of the season, allowing only one unearned run while striking out three batters in five innings of work.
