WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Alex Schultheis (Cranston, R.I.) earned a pair of points, but the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team was defeated by Assumption College, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks finish their season 2-11 overall, including 1-10 in Northeast-10 play, while the Greyhounds improve to 4-12, 2-9 NE-10.
Schultheis earned a 6-4, 6-1 win against Matthew Drolet in No. 2 singles before teaming with freshman Nick Schwab (Seaford, N.Y.) to post an 8-3 victory against Joseph Esposito and Nathan LaFond in No. 1 doubles action.
Junior Joseph Zucchi (Methuen, Mass.) recorded a No. 3 singles win against Richard Jakiel, 6-2, 6-1.
This marked the final career matches for seniors Liam Concannon (Boston, Mass.) and Schultheis.
