MANCHESTER, N.H. – Hawks defenseman Molly Corl (Georgetown, Mass.) scored the lone goal of the day for the home team as the Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team recorded a 1-1 draw with the Pilgrims of New England College Saturday afternoon at the Thomas F. Sullivan Arena.  The Hawks collect their first tie of the season, placing their overall record at 18-6-1 and also at 12-5-1 within the ECAC Women's East.  The Pilgrims earn their third tie of the year, concluding their regular season with a record of 10-12-3.

The Hawks opened the scoring with 52 seconds remaining in the first period as Corl recorded her fifth goal of the season.  A Courtney Winters (Swampscott, Mass.) feed caught the stick of Corl, who rifled the puck past New England College goaltender Lauren Hopps for the score.  The Pilgrims answered with the game-tying goal at 17:04 of the second period, as the rebound from a Chelsea Torrico blast was flipped home on the backhand by forward Kate Kellar for the strike.

Kellar's goal marked the first tally against Saint Anselm on home ice dating back to Jan. 6 against Saint Scholastica.  As a team, the Hawks had not allowed a goal at home across a span of 401:36 minutes while Hawks goaltender Amy Zappen (Huntington Beach, Calif.) herself had a home shutout streak snapped at 341:36 minutes.

Zappen set the program record for ties this afternoon, earning her first of the season and the third of her career by turning aside 16-of-17 shots on net.  Hopps also drew her first tie of the season, allowing one goal on 34 shots on net.

Saint Anselm was 0-for-4 on the power play.  New England College was 0-for-3 with the extra skater.
