MANCHESTER, N.H. – Sophomore Nick Schwab (Seaford, N.Y.) and senior Michael Hanna (Southborough, Mass.) each earned a pair of wins to help the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team pull out a 5-4 victory against Colby-Sawyer College in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at the Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts.
Schwab captured a 6-3, 6-1 victory in his No. 2 singles match against Clay Allen, before teaming with his brother, freshman Chris Schwab (Seaford, N.Y.), to earn a 9-7 win against Justin Pinard and Sergio Spassof.
Hanna posted a 6-2, 6-1 win against Connor Veazey in No. 6 singles and then, along with teammate, senior Joseph Zucchi (Methuen, Mass.), defeated Paul Holland and Veazey, 8-3.
Senior William Condon (Mansfield, Mass.) and sophomore Kyle White (Cambridge, Mass.) combined to knock off Reeve Fidler and Allen, 8-5.
The Hawks return to action Friday, Oct. 12 at 3:30 p.m. when they travel to take on Bentley University. That will wrap up the fall season for the Hawks, as their next match will be Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 3 p.m. when they play host to Franklin Pierce University.
