Men's Tennis Doubled Up at Assumption, 6-3

WORCESTER, Mass. – Three different individuals won singles matches, but it was not enough as the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision at Assumption College on Friday afternoon.

The Hawks fall to 2-8 on the season and in the Northeast-10, while the Greyhounds improve to 4-9, 3-7 NE-10.

Junior Alex Schultheis (Cranston, R.I.) posted a 6-3, 0-6, 10-4 victory against Tariq Sheikh in No. 1 singles action. Sophomore Joseph Zucchi (Methuen, Mass.) downed Jimmy Mongello, 6-3, 6-4, in No. 2 singles, while classmate Michael Hanna (Southborough, Mass.) earned a 6-1, 7-5 win against Bobby Hurley in No. 4 singles.

The Hawks return to action when they wrap up their season Saturday, April 16 at noon as they travel to take on Stonehill College.
