Hawks Drop Finale at Bryant, 20-5

Smithfield, R.I. (April 22) -- The Saint Anselm women's lacrosse team closed out the 2008 season with a 20-5 road loss at Bryant University on Tuesday evening in Smithfield, R.I. Saint Anselm ends the season at 5-10 overall and 4-6 in Northeast-10 play.

The Hawks and Bulldogs traded goals through the first 15 minutes. After going down 3-0, Courtney Ford (Concord, Mass.) netted the Hawks' first goal. Tiea Kurlowecz (Concord, Mass.) then netted her lone goal of the game to cut the lead to 3-2. Michaela Rocha (Arlington, Mass.) then tied the game at three apiece.

After the Bulldogs went up 5-3, the Hawks responded with a pair of goals to tie the game up again. Ford scored again and Meghan Ayers (Sayville, N.Y.) scored.

The Bulldogs then went on to score 15 straight goals, as the Bulldogs cruised to a 20-5 victory.
