Rockville Centre, N.Y. (March 7) -- On
Saturday, the Saint Anselm women's lacrosse team fell to Molloy
College by an 18-7 final in non-conference action.
After Saint Anselm took a 1-0 lead just 1:17 into the game on a
goal from Tiea Kurlowecz (Concord, Mass.), the
Lions tied the game just 3:08 later. Jennifer Carew
(Concord, N.H.) gave the Hawks the lead again with 24:03
left in the first half with an unassisted goal before Molloy
rattled off three straight scores for the 4-2 advantage. Molloy
scored 14 of the game's next 16 goals before the Hawks found the
net three straight times in the final 10:43 of the game for the
18-7 final.
Katherine O'Hara (Norwell, Mass.) made 13 saves
for the Hawks in the loss, while three goalkeepers saw time for the
Lions. Alicia Frisch played 44:19 and made nine
saves to pick up the win.
Saint Anselm falls to 1-1 with the loss, while Molloy improves
to 1-0. The Hawks are back in action on Sunday afternoon as the
team travels to Philadelphia University for a Noon start with the
Rams.
