Stoutenburgh Gymnasium

Saint Anselm basketball has called historic Stoutenburgh Gymnasium home since 1960.

The gymnasium seats 1,200 patrons for Saint Anselm men's and women's basketball contests and also serves the college community in other capacities, including functioning as the home court for the Saint Anselm women's volleyball program in the fall. The gymnasium is also utilized for occasional social functions and intramural and recreational sports.

The gymnasium underwent a complete lower-level renovation in 1994 which has created private locker rooms for every varsity sport. Among the notable additions were handmade lockers from the college's own physical plant staff that are adorned with blue and white name plates for each athlete.

On February 21, 2009, the basketball court was dedicated in honor of former men's basketball coach Al Grenert, who coached on the Hilltop for 22 seasons and won over 300 games for the Hawks. Two eight-foot logos bearing his name are featured on the court.

Along with the locker facilities for the Hawks' varsity teams, administration and officials have also been provided with private, comfortable locker room accomodations.

A press box was added to the upper level of the gymnasium in 1995 and features a bird's eye view of all the action. The area accommodates up to 15 media members and is utilized regularly for live broadcasts of home events. The press box has undergone a number of improvements over the summer of 2006, including improved work space and capabilities for live television broadcasts.

Also located in the upper level of the gymnasium are offices for the men's and women's basketball coaching staffs.

A renovated ventilation system has provided improved air circulation in Stoutenburgh's locker rooms. New showers and restrooms have also been significant improvements over the last few years.

The Saint Anselm training room is located on the lower level of the facility, having nearly doubled its size since the building's renovation in 1994. The training room provides full-service treatment and rehab for Saint Anselm's nearly 500 student-athletes. Also included is office space for the college's four full-time athletic trainers, as well as storage space and extra treatment areas.

The facility also boasts a full-service equipment room that contains storage for each of Saint Anselm's varsity athletic teams, as well as an area for laundry for each team.
