Spagnuolo Fitness Center
Opened on Feb. 9, 2009, the Spagnuolo Fitness Center at the Carr Center is a three-level, 9,000 square foot facility available for use by all members of the Saint Anselm College community.
The facility features 37 cardiovascular machines, 39 strength pieces and approximately 7,000 pounds of weights. Overlooking Sullivan Park and Grappone Stadium, the center's state-of-the-art equipment is arrayed behind floor-to-ceiling glass.
The building also boasts eight, 50-inch televisions along with the ability to plug into each cardio piece and listen to each of the televisions. A fixed solar shade, and high-quality, tinted solar-shading glass reduce glare, UV light, and excessive heat for gym patrons.
The facility was named in honor of the late Anthony J. Spagnuolo, a long-time friend of the College. His company, Eckman Construction, built many campus buildings, including numerous residences, the Thomas F. Sullivan Arena, and Goulet Science Center, as well as the fitness center.
The top two levels feature mostly cardiovascular pieces including treadmills, exercise bikes and elliptical machines. In addition, the main level also has a number of strength machines located along the perimeter of the floor.
The lower level is where most of the free weights are located, along with an office area.
