Torie Howdeshell is in her third season as an assistant coach on the Saint Anselm College volleyball coaching staff after being hired in August of 2017.
Howdeshell came to Saint Anselm after serving as an assistant coach for the men's program at Lehman College in the Bronx, N.Y. There, she helped guide the Lightning to a 15-11 record and a spot in the City University of New York (CUNY) Athletic Conference semifinals.
Originally from Fairbanks, Alaska, Howdeshell attended Western New England University, where she played in 62 matches as a defensive specialist over three seasons. In her senior year, Howdeshell led the team in aces (49) and added 157 digs, as the Golden Bears finished 21-10 and advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament championship match.
Howdeshell graduated from Western New England in 2017 with a degree in neuroscience and was named to the All-CCC Academic Team in 2016. She was also inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society in 2017.
She currently resides in Merrimack.
