Women's tennis stumbles at Franklin Pierce, 7-0

RINDGE, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was blanked by the host Ravens from Franklin Pierce University on Thursday.

Saint Anselm dips to 3-9 overall on the season and to 1-8 against Northeast-10 Conference foes. After posting only two wins in 21 matches last season, the Ravens own an 8-3 overall record to date this season and have logged five NE10 victories in eight league matches.

Franklin Pierce cruised to a 1-0 lead in the match, blanking the Hawks at No. 1 doubles before posting wins of 6-1 and 6-3, respectively, at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

The Ravens controlled singles action, but junior Maikah Bulpitt (Cumberland, R.I.) won seven games at No. 4 singles (6-4, 6-3) to lead all Saint Anselm student-athletes.

Saint Anselm ends its NE10 schedule of matches this Saturday at Adelphi with a high noon match.
