Women's tennis defeated by Saint Michael's, 5-2
MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was downed by the visiting Purple Knights from Saint Michael's College on Saturday.
 

Falling by a 5-2 score, the Hawks drop to 1-4 overall and to 0-3 against Northeast-10 Conference opponents. Saint Michael's moves to 1-2 in both overall and NE10 play. Saint Anselm will play its fifth match in nine days on Tuesday, Sept. 17, heading to Southern New Hampshire for a 3 p.m. contest.

Senior Kaitlin Hughes (Rockland, Mass.) and sophomore Emily Jacy (Glastonbury, Conn.) rolled to a 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles, but posted 6-0 and 6-1 defeats at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, respectively, to fall behind 1-0 in the match.

Freshman Anastasia Kapothanasis (Westbrook, Maine) continued to rack up wins for the Hawks, moving to 4-1 in singles play with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles. Hughes and senior Dominique Bolduc (Manchester, N.H.) each went the distance at No. 1 and No. 5 singles, but the Purple Knights came out on top.
