Adelphi Takes Care of Women’s Tennis, 8-1

HEMPSTEAD LAKE, N.Y. – Sophomore Jess Perkins (Shrewsbury, Mass.) triumphed in her singles match, but the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team fell to Adelphi University, 8-1, Sunday morning at Hempstead Lake Indoor Tennis.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS

  • Perkins earned a 6-3, 3-6, 10-4 victory against Stefani Lineva.

NOTES

  • Perkins, who is now 11-2 in singles play this season, 15-1 at No. 1 singles since Oct. 4, 2014. She has also won 18 of 20 Northeast-10 No. 1 singles matches dating back to Sept. 14, 2014.

  • The Hawks return to action Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 2:30 p.m. when they play host to American International College at the Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts.
