Women’s Tennis Upended, 6-3, at Assumption

WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman Julie Rohnstock (Scituate, Mass.) won her singles match as the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Assumption College on Saturday afternoon at the Assumption Tennis Courts.

The Hawks drop to 3-9 on the season and in Northeast-10 play, while the Greyhounds improve to 6-14, 4-8 NE-10.

Rohnstock dispatched of Gaby Marandino, 6-2, 6-1, in No. 6 singles action.

Senior Alexandra Lawrence (N. Scituate, R.I.) and junior Katherine Morrissey (Sturbridge, Mass.) recorded an 8-5 victory against Erica Micciche and Cassandra Waung in No. 1 doubles.

Freshman Kathryn Rindo (Lowell, Mass.) and junior Christine Woods (Wilmington, Mass.) were 8-5 winners against Melanie McCauley and Marandino in No. 3 doubles.

The Hawks wrap up their season Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m. when they play host to the College of the Holy Cross.
