Women's Tennis Posts 6-3 Victory Against American International

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior Christine Woods (Wilmington, Mass.), sophomore April Regan (Berlin, Conn.) and freshman Kathryn Rindo (Lowell, Mass.) each won a pair of matches to lead the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team to a 6-3 victory against American International College on Saturday afternoon at the Saint Anselm Tennis Courts.

The Hawks improve to 2-6, including 2-5 in Northeast-10 play, while the Yellow Jackets drop to 0-10, 0-9 NE-10.

Woods and Regan joined forces for a No. 3 doubles win against Jasmine Bryd and Christine Bourett, 8-0. Woods captured her No. 6 singles match against Ally Trinier, 6-2, 6-2, while Regan defeated Martine Turgeon, 6-0, 6-3, in No. 3 singles action.

Rindo and sophomore Kate Martin (Hudson, N.H.) pulled out an 8-6 win against Jessica Hall and Turgeon in No. 2 doubles. Rindo handed Edna Olwo a 6-1, 6-1 setback in No. 5 singles play.

Senior Rachel Pedro (Weymouth, Mass.) took care of Hall, 6-3, 6-2, in No. 4 singles.

The Hawks return to action Sunday, April 7 at 1 p.m. when they play host to the University of New Haven.
