Manchester, N.H. -- Nancy Driscoll has been named as the women’s tennis head coach at Saint Anselm College, announced Dr. Jo-Ann Nester, director of athletics.
“We are very pleased to have Nancy join the Hawk athletic staff as our new head women’s tennis coach,” said Dr. Nester. “She will be a great addition for our department and we believe this is a good step for our women’s tennis program. With her background in coaching and teaching at every level, Nancy brings the talent and enthusiasm that will be well appreciated by our current student-athletes, but also will be of benefit in the recruiting process.”
Driscoll has teaching and coaching experience at a number of levels, including serving as a tennis teaching professional at the Executive Health & Sports Center in Manchester since 2003. At the Executive, she has conducted private and group lessons, ran the junior and adult training programs for all levels and has worked with both varsity and junior varsity high school players. She also created the “Team Extreme” program, which is an advanced junior development-training program for aspiring juniors who want to take their game to the next level.
“I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the continued growth of Saint Anselm's women’s tennis program,” said Driscoll. “I am looking forward to an incredible season of women's tennis that will meet, if not exceed the high academic reputation that this prestigious institution is known for.”
Driscoll’s other experience includes working as the head pro for the summer junior program at the Bedford Bluffs Swim and Tennis Club since 2007, as well as serving as the head coach of the Granite State Kids Tennis – USTA Junior Team Tennis program from 2004-2007. She is also certified as a United States Professional Tennis Association Professional 3.
A 1979 graduate of Mt. St. Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y., Driscoll graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She currently resides in Manchester, N.H.
