Women’s Tennis Falls to Stonehill, 8-1, on Senior Day

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Erika Sartor (Andover, Mass.) won her fourth straight match, but the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was defeated by Stonehill College, 8-1, Saturday afternoon at the Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts.

The Hawks see their five-match winning streak snapped as they fall to 7-6 overall and in Northeast-10 play, while the Skyhawks, who are ranked fourth in the region, improve to 16-2, 12-1, NE-10.

Saint Anselm's only win of the day came in No. 2 singles, where Sartor defeated Amy Toegemann, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1.

Prior to the match, the Hawks honored Sartor and fellow seniors Vanessa Centofanti (North Reading, Mass.) and Lauren DeGuglielmo (Wakefield, Mass.).

The Hawks return to action Monday, April 16 (2 p.m.) when they travel to take on Stonehill in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 tournament.
