Women’s Tennis Remains on a Roll with 7-2 Win Against Assumption

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Erika Sartor (Andover, Mass.), junior Amanda Brahm (Marlborough, Conn.) and sophomore Alexandra Lawrence (North Scituate, R.I.) each earned two points to lead the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team to a 7-2 victory against Assumption College at the Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hawks, winners of six of their last seven, including five straight, improve to 7-5, 7-5 NE-10. Assumption falls to 5-9, 5-7 NE-10.

Sartor swept Paige Gilet, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 2 singles action, while Lawrence defeated Erica Micciche, 7-5, 6-1, in No. 1 singles. The two then teamed up to down Micciche and Grace Fox, 8-1, in No. 1 singles.

Brahm earned a 2-6, 6-1, 10-8 victory against Fox in No. 3 singles before joining sophomore Colleen Kluberdanz (Pawcatuk, Conn.) to knock off Marrissa Charles and Gilet, 8-6, in No. 3 doubles.

Senior Vanessa Centofanti (North Reading, Mass.) beat Alex Rahal, 6-2, 6-2, in No. 5 singles.

Senior Lauren DeGuglielmo (Wakefield, Mass.) and freshman Katherine Morrissey (Sturbridge, Mass.) recorded a No. 2 doubles win against Meg Hall and Rahal, 8-2.

The Hawks return to action Saturday, April 16 (1 p.m.) when they play host to Stonehill College in their regular-season finale.
