MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Erika Sartor (Andover, Mass.) and junior Amanda Brahm (Marlborough, Conn.) each earned four points over the weekend to lead the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team to 6-3 wins against Le Moyne College and the College of Saint Rose at the Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
The Hawks, who have now won four straight, improve to 6-5 on the season, as well as in Northeast-10 play. The Dolphins fall to 3-11, 3-8 NE-10, while the Golden Knights drop to 6-7, 6-7 NE-10.
Against Le Moyne, Sartor defeated Rebecca Black, 6-0, 6-3, in No. 2 singles, while Brahm downed Kristie Kenny in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Sartor teamed with sophomore Alexandra Lawrence (North Scituate, R.I.) to earn an 8-1 victory in No. 1 doubles against Caroline Tidsdell and Black, while Brahm and sophomore Colleen Kluberdanz (Pawcatuk, Conn.) beat Kenny and Margaret Reagan, 8-2, in No. 3 doubles.
In No. 5 singles, freshman Katherine Morrissey (Sturbridge, Mass.) recorded a 4-6, 7-5, 10-2 victory against Megan Andolina. Morrissey also earned an 8-6 win with senior Lauren DeGuglielmo (Wakefield, Mass.) in No. 2 doubles against Liz Rhode and Andolina.
Sartor and Brahm again earned singles victories against Saint Rose on Sunday, with Sartor beating Missy Leighton, 6-1, 6-3 in No. 2 singles and Brahm downing Erin Reeg, 6-1, 6-2 in No. 3 singles. Sartor and Lawrence defeated Leighton and Reeg, 8-4, in No. 1 doubles, while Brahm and Kluberdanz vanquished Steph Belz and Steph Wilhem, 8-6.
DeGuglielmo earned a 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 victory in No. 4 singles against Kim Schacher, while Morrissey posted a 6-3, 6-4 win in No. 5 singles against Belz.
The Hawks return to action Tuesday, April 12 (3:30 p.m.) when they play host to Assumption College at the Outdoor Tennis Courts.
