HOPKINTON, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's cross country team competed at the seventh annual Bruce Kirsh Cup on Saturday, recording a fifth place finish on the 8K course.
Saint Anselm had three runners finish in the top-25 en route to the fifth place finish, logging a team total of 114 points.
Senior Anthony Galasso (Reading, Mass.) led all Saint Anselm runners with a time of 27:41.8 while junior Ben Sweesy (Merrimack, N.H.) was not far behind with a time of 28:19.6. Junior Jordan Cook (Biddeford, Maine) navigated the course in 29:08.8, finishing 31st in the field of 75 runners.
Sophomore Patrick Hodgson (Falmouth, Mass.) recorded a personal best 8K time of 29:53.8, placing 38th, with a trio of Hawks finishing 43rd, 44th and 45th. Freshman Tom Nelson (Gorham, Maine) crossed the line in 30:15.1 with junior Trent Briggs (Westford, Mass.) and freshman Liam Reeve (Kittery, Maine) logging times of 30:22.6 and 30:33.7, respectively.
Saint Anselm will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 12, competing at the NEICAAA Cross Country Championship in Boston's Franklin Park.
