Joe Battista joined the Saint Anselm College football coaching staff as the assistant offensive line coach in August of 2017.
Battista has 15 years of coaching experience coaching high school football in New Hampshire at Souhegan, Merrimack and Manchester Memorial. He won a Division 3 state championship while serving as an assistant coach at Souhegan from 2002-07, before becoming the head coach at Merrimack from 2008-12 and later was an assistant at Manchester Memorial from 2013-16.
Battista, who works full-time as a physical education teacher at Merrimack Middle School, played four years of football at West Virginia Wesleyan College, graduating in 1993. At West Virginia Wesleyan, he was a Small School All-American offensive tackle and team captain in his senior season.
Battista and his wife, Leanna, have two sons, Justin (21) and Tyler (18).
