Football hosts Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry Drive

MANCHESTER, N.H. – On April 26, members of the Saint Anselm College football team, in partnership with The Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation, held the Get in the Game Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry Drive on campus.

The event was held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Davison Hall on the campus of Saint Anselm. 212 students, faculty, staff and members of the community attended the event and registered to help save a life.

Every year, thousands of people are diagnosed with blood related illnesses and they rely on the National Bone Marrow Registry to match them with donors to save their lives.

Entering the registry only requires some paper work and a simple mouth swab, which is less then a 15-minute process. For those who are matched with someone in the registry, a blood plasma donation is all it takes 75 percent of the time.
