Seven Hawks Earn NE-10 All-Conference Honors

Easton, Mass. -- Seven members of the Saint Anselm football team have been honored by the Northeast-10 Conference on the league's All-Conference and All-Rookie teams. Sophomore linebacker Shane O'Donnell (Dracut, Mass.) and junior wide receiver Marc Wilson (Farmington, Conn.) were both named to the All-Conference Second Team, while five Hawks earned All-Rookie recognition.

O'Donnell, a team captain in 2010, earns All-Conference honors for the first time after finishing the season in third on the team in total tackles with 61, including 39 solo stops. O'Donnell posted two double-digit tackle performances, including a season-best 12 tackles in a road loss at Assumption. In that game, he had a career-high nine solo stops. With 6.8 tackles per game in his nine games played, O'Donnell ranked 14th in the Northeast-10 in that category.

Wilson, one of the top offensive players in Saint Anselm history, earns All-Conference honors for a third straight season. After being named as the league's Rookie of the Year as a freshman, Wilson was a First Team selection as a sophomore. This season, Wilson led the Hawks in total receptions with 57 catches despite playing in only seven games due to injury. He finished with 519 total receiving yards, including a career-long 77-yard reception on the first play of the game at Assumption. Earning spots on the league's All-Rookie Team were freshmen Justin Bernard (Cambridge, Mass.), Dave Boardman (Westfield, Mass.), Keith Charles (Laurel, Md.), Andrew Lebowitz (Andover, Mass.) and Alex White (Brockton, Mass.).

Bernard, a one-time Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week, was the team's leader in receiving yards with 614 yards on 49 catches, including three touchdown receptions. Bernard posted two 100-yard receiving games, including a 14-catch, 129-yard showing in an upset of No. 22 ranked New Haven.

Boardman earns a spot on the All-Rookie team after appearing in nine on the offensive line for the Hawks as a rookie, helping the team to 924 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. Leading that charge in the backfield was Charles, who was a one-time Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week. Charles carried the ball 152 times as a freshman, finishing with 565 yards and a team-best six rushing touchdowns. He also caught 38 passes for 371 yards and a touchdown, finishing the yards with 936 all-purpose yards. In the upset of No. 22 ranked New Haven, Charles pulled down four passes for a total of 100 yards as he finished with 168 all-purpose yards in the game.

The final two Hawks earning spots on the All-Rookie Team are a pair of defensive players in Lebowitz and White.
