St. Marie Earns Football Gazette All-Region Honors

Clarion, Pa. (January 9) -- Saint Anselm junior running back Luke St. Marie (Mill Creek, Wash.) was honored by Don Hansen's Football Gazette as a Second Team member of the 2008 All-Super Region One Team.

St. Marie finished his junior year with 742 rushing yards on 141 carries for six touchdowns. For his play,  he was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team. St. Marie rushed for a career-high 241 yards and two touchdowns in a 48-42 win at Merrimack and earned the New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Award for his play. He ended the season with a 144-yard, two-touchdown showing in a road win at Pace.

This marks the seventh year Football Gazette has selected NCAA Division II All-Region teams. The national publication has selected NCAA Division II All-America Teams since 1988.

The first and second team selections advance to a national ballot from which the 2008 NCAA Division II Football Gazette All-America team will be selected by the end of January.
