Easton, Mass. -- Five Saint Anselm student-athletes have been named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams for the winter and spring seasons, as announced by the league and voted by the league's sports information directors.
Thomas Baudinet (Watertown, Conn.) - Men's
Baudinet, a Daktronics Second Team All-Region honoree and a Northeast-10 Third Team All-Conference selection, led the Hawks with 18.1 points per game. His scoring average also ranked him fourth in the Northeast-10 Conference. Baudinet, a one-time Northeast-10 Player of the Week, was named to the league's weekly honor roll 10 times during the 2008-2009 season.
Baudinet was named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Tournament Team as he helped the ninth-seeded Hawks make a run to the tournament semifinals, before falling to eventual champion Assumption College.
Baudinet is a history major and has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.46.
Kevin DeBenedetto (Reading, Mass.) - Men's Lacrosse
DeBenedetto becomes the first three-time All-New England First Team selection in Saint Anselm history. He also earned Northeast-10 All-Conference Second Team honors for the first time in his career. DeBenedetto led the Hawks with 17 caused turnovers and had 33 ground balls to go with three goals and one assist.
DeBenedetto, a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Student-Athlete Honor Society, is an international relations major with a cumulative GPA of 3.42.
Laura Nason (Shelton, Conn.) - Women's Tennis
Nason, a two-time All-Conference player, was the No. 1 singles player and a member of the No. 1 doubles team this past season. At No. 1 singles, Nason boasted an 8-4 overall record.
At the Saint Anselm Athletic Awards Night, Nason was honored as the recipient of the Saint Anselm Female Senior Student-Athlete Award. A member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Student-Athlete Honor Society, Nason graduated with a degree in psychology and a cumulative GPA of 3.55.
Michaela Rocha (Rye, N.H.) - Women's
Rocha, a Northeast-10 First Team All-Conference selection, finished in the top 10 in the nation in most offensive statistical categories. In addition to her Northeast-10 honors, Rocha was also named as an IWLCA North Second Team All-Region performer.
Rocha was second in the nation in points per game (6.07), seventh in points (91), eighth in assists per game (2.27), 10th in assists (34) and ninth in goals per game (3.80). On senior day, she netted two goals to break the single-season goals record (57) and already had the single-season points (91) and assists records (34). She finished her career second in school history in points (206), goals (145) and assists (61).
At the Saint Anselm Athletic Awards Night, Rocha was honored as the Saint Anselm Female Athlete of the Year. A politics major, Rocha graduated with a 3.31 cumulative GPA.
Liz Trafton (Berwick, Maine) - Softball
Trafton played in 30 games for the Hawks, starting 28 of those. She finished with a .325 batting average with 26 hits, including seven doubles (second-best on the team). She also had 13 runs scored, one home run, 12 runs batted in and a .450 slugging percentage.
A psychology major, Trafton has a cumulative GPA of 3.91, the second-highest among the softball players honored by the Northeast-10.
