MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm College Department of Athletics has announced the hire of Codi Fitzgerald to serve as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. He will also oversee the Spagnuolo Fitness Center, the on-campus fitness facility available to the entire Saint Anselm community.

Fitzgerald comes to the Hilltop from former Northeast-10 Conference opponent Merrimack College where he was the Graduate Fellow Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2018-19 academic year. Working with the men's soccer and women's tennis programs, Fitzgerald designed and implemented an annual training program and supervised the training sessions.

"We are very excited for the addition of Codi Fitzgerald to the Hawks Strength and Conditioning staff," remarked Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Rob Herrick. "Codi brings a level of knowledge beyond his years alongside an enthusiasm to help our Saint Anselm Athletics family maximize its performance. His background and training philosophy will be great assets to our student-athletes, setting them up for great success."

He spent the 2016-17 season at the University of Maine as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach, overseeing the club men's and women's rugby programs along with the ultimate Frisbee sports programs. While also providing secondary responsibilities for the football program, Fitzgerald implemented the club sport training program.

Fitzgerald began his career as a Sports Performance Intern at Maine, co-creating the club sport training program while working with the men's and women's ice hockey, football, field hockey and track & field. He also was a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Prentiss Hockey Performance, handling the daily one-on-one and one-on-two training of clients.

"I am excited and grateful to join the Hawks family as a member of the Strength and Conditioning staff," said Fitzgerald. "I look forward to building on the success and growth of the student-athletes here at the Hilltop. Go Hawks!"

Fitzgerald is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also holds certifications in Myokinematic Restoration from the Postural Restoration Institute and is a Level 1 Coach through Reflexive Performance Reset.
