Women’s Cross Country Places 24th at National Catholic Championship

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Sophomore Stephanie Kearsley (Manchester, N.H.) was the top finisher for the Saint Anselm College women's cross country team as she finished 133rd at the 32nd Annual National Catholic Championship, hosted by the University of Notre Dame on Friday afternoon. The Hawks finished in 24th as a team with 685 points, while Notre Dame won the meet with 22 points.

Kearsley completed the five-kilometer course in a time of 20 minutes flat.

Classmate Katharine Meinertz (Smithfield, R.I.) supported Kearsley's effort by placing 139th in a time of 20:04, while freshman Frankie Mueller (Northborough, Mass.) was 143rd in 20:10.

Senior Bianca Ciuffredo (Worcester, Mass.) and sophomore Joanna Marczyk (Stratford, Conn.) placed 170th and 171st, respectively, in times of 20:36 and 20:37.

Junior Aileen Hickey (Hingham, Mass.) finished 184th as she crossed the finish line at 20:53.

Sophomore Lauren Duffy (Sandwich, Mass.) ran to a 212th-place finish in a time of 21:18, while sophomore Elizabeth Duffy (Sandwich, Mass.) was 231st at 21:58.

Sophomore Hilary Keithcart (Essex, Vt.) rounded out the Saint Anselm runners, finishing 255th in a time of 22:46.

The Hawks return to action Friday, Sept. 23 at the Rivier Invitational.
