Daly Takes Home NE-10 Women’s Lax Player, Rookie of the Week Honors

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Freshman Marissa Daly (Marshfield, Mass.) of the Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team was named both the Northeast-10 Player and Rookie of the Week for the period ending March 4, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Daly earns the awards after kicking off her collegiate career with a stellar opening weekend for the Hawks. Daly amassed 12 points on 10 goals and a pair of assists, in addition to tallying four groundballs and a pair of caused turnovers. Daly attempted just 13 shots to score her 10 goals.

After recording her first collegiate point with an assist at third-ranked C.W. Post on Friday, Daly busted out with six goals to help lead the Hawks to a 13-11 upset victory at No. 8 Dowling on Saturday. Daly wrapped the weekend with four goals and an assist in a 15-12 defeat at Queens (N.Y.) on Sunday.

Daly and the Hawks return to action Saturday, March 10 at 1 p.m. when they travel south to take on Merrimack College. The Hawks return home Tuesday, March 13 at 3 p.m. when they play host to Molloy College at Grappone Stadium.
