The Hawks have advanced to the championship game six different times in the program's seven year history and have three ECAC Open Tournament titles to their credit.  Last season, the Crusaders of the College of Holy Cross captured the victory in the title game, edging Saint Anselm by a 2-0 margin in the shootout after skating to a 4-4 draw.  Holy Cross has won the last three ECAC Open Tournaments dating back to the 2008-09 season.

Entering the ECAC Open Tournament this weekend, Saint Anselm is on a seven-game unbeaten streak, posting a 6-0-1 record during that span.  The Hawks boast a 7-1-1 record on home ice this season, losing in regulation to nationally-ranked Norwich University and posting a 1-1 tie on Saturday against New England College.  Saint Anselm has out-scored the opposition by a 45-to-11 margin at Sullivan Arena, allowing only three goals on home ice in 2012 alongside six home shutouts since Jan. 7.
