Strong second day lifts men's golf in Towson Invitational standings

GRASONVILLE, Md. – The Saint Anselm College men's golf team had a strong final day at the Towson Spring Invitational on Sunday – the Hawks turned in the eighth-lowest second round score to finish 14th in the crowded 17-team field.

Final Results

Saint Anselm combined to shoot a 315 on the second and final day of competition against a primarily NCAA Division I field. Senior Tad Link shot a 79 on Sunday, finishing with a team-leading 157 (+13) to lead all Hawks players.

Freshman Alec Brunelle recorded a second-round 78, matching junior Stephen Hunt's final score of 164. Hunt carded a 79, equaling Link and senior Joe Brunelle. Senior Robbie Cole improved his score from the first day, shooting an 84 to finish with a plus-26 170.

Sacred Heart's Matt Shubley and Kobdech Rodrat of Towson led the entire field with a three-over 147. St. Bonaventure won the team tournament, shooting a plus-27 603.

Saint Anselm will compete at the Mike Bello Invitational this Thursday, Apr. 12 at Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse, N.Y.
