Hawks Place Second At Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational

KEENE, N.H. - Joseph Fitzsimmons (Marshfield, Mass.) led the Hawks by carding a four-over 76 as the Saint Anselm College golf team placed second overall at the 2011 Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational Thursday afternoon.  Saint Anselm has now placed second or higher in four of their seven tournaments on the season.

As a team, the Hawks placed second overall with a cumulative score of 315 (+27).  Fitzsimmons shot a 40 on the front nine and a 36 on the back nine for a total of 76 on the afternoon, placing him in a tie for fourth place overall.  Tim Millett (Poland, Maine) turned in a six-over 78 to place in a tie for seventh place overall in the tournament. 

Timothy Grossman (Foxboro, Mass.) finished tied for ninth overall in the field, shooting a 42 on the front and concluding his round with a back-nine 37 to finish at 79.  Timothy Rattigan (Reading, Mass.) carded an 82 (42-40=82) in the tournament, with Jason Lussier rounding out the Hawks golfers with an 84 (45-39=84).

The Hawks return to action Sunday, Oct. 16 as they travel to Brewster, Mass. to participate in the NEIGA Championship.
